Hmmm... in the interview you mentioned how somebody you trusted went and used your secret against yourself, and you said it had happened twice, always with friends of the same gender.
Have you tried telling it to trustworthy friends of the opposite sex? It seems to me that they are more willing to accept it.
Maybe it's because individulas from the same gender tend to see you as a lesser man/woman if you haven't done it, whereas the opposite sex is more tolerant (or so it seems).
This has happened to me many times. Females never say negative things if I tell them, but males make fun of it and say very hurtful things.
